Chur Institute of Architecture

Das Chur Institute of Architecture ist eine Stiftung für Architektur im Zentrum der Bündner Baukultur. Mit einem Master of Architecture bietet das Institut besonders begabten und motivierten Studierenden die Möglichkeit, sich auf hohem Niveau und unter intensiver Betreuung in einem internationalen Kontext weiterzubilden. Um die Ausbildung noch attraktiver zu gestalten, regelt ein Auswahlverfahren die Zulassung für einen Studienplatz und herausragende Leistungen werden gefördert.

Das Chur Institute of Architecture nimmt seit Herbstsemester 2008 keine neuen Studierenden mehr auf.

Daniel A. Walser unterrichtete am Chur Institute of Architecture Architekturtheorie und Architekturgeschichte. Ein zentrales Projekt dabei war die Untersuchung zu jungen Architekten in Graubünden.

The Chur Institute of Architecture operates as an independent and productive environment. Its aim is to compile and develop methods that address questions, which today's profession of architecture is confronted with. This productive mind promotes interrelations between knowledge and practice, and therefore cultivates, as a critical contemporary witness, new synergies between the educational and professional worlds. As part of an interdisciplinary network and at the heart of a vital building culture within Switzerland, the Chur Institute of Architecture seeks a new dialogue.

Since autumn 2008, the Chur Institute of Architecture does not accept any new students.

Daniel A. Walser taught architecture history and theory at the Chur Institute of Architecture. One of his main teaching projects was the research about the next youngest of architects in Graubünden.
